Frère Adam Bee: product of the important work of selection and breeding by the monk Brother Adam on European and African bees. He was convinced that a cross would improve the local breeds and that due to these crossings, the real values of the breeds were expressed. Buckfast is the name of the abbey in the South of England, where he carried out his research, and which has now become a sought worldwide trademark.
