Install a hive
PREPARING THE SURROUNDINGS
 The installation of the first hive represents the start of a new hive, which is the reason why you need to take a few precautions. Find out about the environment of your hive in a region of 3km to diagnose the potential honey production. The consultation with local beekeepers of the region will also avoid you making serious errors. Choose a site accessible by car or by a 4x4, prepare the ground, check for the absence of air currents and the presence of sunshine, clean the immediate area so that the hive has clear access, insulate the ground below the hive to prevent humidity and make sure that the hive is positioned flat while tilting it slightly forward, but it must be stable. Finally, if necessary, place a stone on top of the hive, so that a gust of wind does not blow the roof away. |
