Our goals
SOME BEES AND SOME MEN Our MISSION, OUR WORK Apiterra's mission is to save the bees in Europe. Apiterra is developing R&D to cope with the excess mortality of the bees, while developing commercial activities from this research.
| |
Disease resistant bees
In
collaboration with INRA, Apiterra seeks to develop new species of bees resistant to diseases (Varroa, Nosemosis).
Every year, Apiterra invests 30% of its CA in research, needed to fight against the excess mortality of the bees (diseases,
nutritional problems, pollen contribution...). From today, Apiterra prepares answers to the many new challenges bee keepers face.
|
| |
| European Livestock Breeding To compensate for the catastrophic levels of mortality in which the bees endure each year in Europe, Apiterra has introduced livestock rearing.
With already more than 3000 hives which multiply producing 9 months out of 12,
Apiterra already supplies 2 of the biggest European markets.
Each year, Apiterra increases its livestock by more than 1000 hives to support the growth of the need to restock livestocks of bees.
In association with Akuo Energy, Apiterra is developing bee farms on sites which produce renewable energy photovoltaics. The concept of AGRINERGIE comes to the rescue of the bees in Europe.
| Bees and Businesses To educate companies and prescribers, Apiterra serves companies that want to equip themselves with hives
Apiterra
supplies, manages, operates and maintains the hives in an annual rental format. Apiterra already looks after more than 50 hives of businesses in Ile de
France. In 2011, new regional platforms were opened in France in Pays de Loire and in the South.
| |
To facilitate the access to beekeeping to many more Apiterra tries to convey its passion for beekeeping to many more through the access to stocks of swarms and queens, as well as consulting, training and support for fans and newcomers.
Each year, Apiterra facilitates the access of more than 200 new people who are passionate by the world of bees. |
| |
Apiterra
has acquired the means and the most effective aid in order to succeed in its mission. Thus, whether in research with INRA, the nutrition of the bee with Novaflore or in breeding, Apiterra is looking to work with the best specialists in France and abroad.
